BlackChili Compound

With the legendary Black Chili Compound, Continental was able to answer the eternal question of grip or rolling resistance with lasting effect. The latest polymers as well as specially developed carbon black particles and fillers guarantee a unique performance – whether on a road bike, gravel or mountain bike, for time trials or downhill.

Vectran

Vectran is spun from the liquid crystal polymer Vectra. This creates a thermoplastic, multi-fibre yarn. For comparison, this semi-crystalline fabric is more cut resistant than aramid and has five times the tensile strength of steel. A Vectran breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than comparable nylon breakers. The rolling resistance is not negatively affected.
